Rockit Celebrates Second Annual Mac Madness

Oysters MacafellaChef James Gottwald and Chef De Cuisine Amanda Downing are at it again with their popular week-long food festivals, this time celebrating Macaroni and Cheese, one of America’s most popular comfort casseroles. Rockit Bar & Grill, at 22 W. Hubbard in River North and 3700 N. Clark in Wrigleyville, takes the beloved dish one step further with our Second Annual Mac Madness.  Kicking off the same week as the ever popular March Madness, basketball fans and food enthusiasts alike can enjoy a new and innovative twist on Mac and Cheese every day of the week!

Existing favorites including Rockit’s signature Mac & Cheese ($8) as well as last year’s reining Mac Madness king Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese (four cheese mac, buttermilk blue cheese, chives at $14) will be offered all week long.

Rockit Wrigleyville, operating under off-season hours, will also give guests the opportunity to partake in Mac Madness with a week-end edition of the festival and offer three of the daily Mac & Cheese’s Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19.

River North preparations include:

Monday, March 14th Hog-A-Roni & Cheese – braised pork belly, bacon, bbq baked beans, smoked gouda, $14
Tuesday, March 15th
Lamb Sausage & Ratatouille – with goat cheese, $14
Wednesday, March 16th
French Onion & Beef Brisket – caramelized onions, gruyere cheese, $14
Thursday, March 17th
Corned Beef and Cabbage (for St. Patty’s) – Irish Cheddar, whiskey mustard cream, $14
Friday, March 18th
– Oyster Mac-A-Fella – creamed spinach, fried oysters, pecorino $14
